Yacht Spot is the Australian distributor for the renowned range of performance sailing yachts from
J Boats.
J Boats are easily controlled, forgiving and sea-kindly but at the same time they are incredibly exciting to sail and race. The advanced composite construction ensures that for their size, these boats are faster, lighter and stronger than their contemporaries. The patented SCRIMP process pulls triple the normal vacuum-bagging levels to draw all the air out of the cored hull & deck laminates and to draw a slow-curing resin into every void in a single step. It offers higher strength (65% vs. typical 40% glass content) and a void-free laminate far superior to hand lay-up or chopper gun construction. |

Range
The International J/24 was the first production boat designed by Rod Johnstone and J Boats, with the first boat being launched in 1977. There are now over 6,000 racing one-design throughout the world. The smallest one-design in the range is the International J/22.
The current J sprit range includes 8 models with asymmetric spinnakers and retractable carbon bowsprits:
The J/80, J/92 S, J/105, J/109, J/122, J/133, J/145 and the J/160. J Boats pioneered this asymmetric sailing system which not only enhances performance but also provides ease of handling.
The J/100 is an elegant day-sailor, and the J/124 is her beautiful big sister, perfect for weekending with speed and style.
There are also two models specifically designed for performance cruising and blue water sailing; the J/42 and J/65. |
