To introduce ourselves, for most of our sailing life we have been keen asymmetric dinghy sailors, sailing Cherubs to International 14's to 18ft skiffs in the UK and Australia. As the years have passed, J/Boats with their retractable bowsprit, asymmetrical spinnakers and easy handling were a natural progression from racing performance dinghies.
We took delivery of our J/109 'Sweet Chariot' in late 2005 and she exceeded all of our expectations, from comfortable cruiser to race winner. Our results speak for themselves, winning our division in the 2007 Audi Winter Series, the 2007 RSYS Morna Cup, the 2006 North Sydney Cup, 2 Australia Day regattas, Palm Beach regatta, to name a few..., plus some memorable cruising holidays.
We were so impressed with the performance and quality of our J/109, that when the opportunity arose to promote J/Boats in Australia in late 2007, we did not hesitate.
In late 2008 we took delivery of our J/122 named 'Jackpot'. She has blitzed the racing circles in Sydney by winning the CYCA Short Ocean Pointscore series on IRC. This is a continuation from the very successful racing the J/122's have done all over the world. But she's not a 'race' boat, the J's are all designed to be performance oriented yachts with comfortable cruising interiors, that are easily sailed short-handed.
In 2010, the J/80 joined the fleet. She is a 26foot one-design sportboat - easy and fun to sail whether you're a new-comer to sailing or an old salt. There are over 1300 J/80's around the world. The J/80 are used extensively for sail training and match racing, plus they have a very active class association.
And in 2011, the year of the J/111. We took delivery of our J/111 'Jake' in June, and have been enjoying some great race results and fun, easy sailing. J/111's are already sailing in at least ten countries on five continents- USA and Canada for North America; Sydney, Australia; Auckland, NZ; Columbia for South America; and United Kingdom, France, Germany, Netherlands and Switzerland for Europe-- a remarkably strong debut for the next generation international one-design off the J drawing boards and the first J to go global in less than twelve months! See the News section for stories and results.
